Responsibilities
This
position
assists the design
supervisor
in coordinating design management with engineering discipline lead engineers. Responsible for preparing and review of calculations, design drawings, and other information. Supports construction and procurement with preparation of drawings and material take-offs. Reviews as-built drawings and assists with collection of design information required by construction and procurement. Directly involved with the development, enhancement, and maintenance of 3D graphic visual display and modeling work.
Duties
- Conceptualize initial design and give guidance to a team
- Provide detail mechanical design of complex facilities and give guidance to a team
- Perform checking of complex facilities
- Work with Mechanical Design Supervisor and responsible designer in correcting drawings
- Perform initial field survey to determine optimum equipment layout, facility operations and safety criteria
- Support Mechanical Design Supervisor in maintaining budget, schedule and adherence to the agreed to scope of work
- Initiate Mechanical Design / Drafting package squad checks and reviewing other disciplines squad check
- Perform vendor data review of equipment and components in their assigned area
- Support Mechanical Design Supervisor in maintaining a needs list of design criteria to support completion of their assigned area
Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering Degree from a US accredited school
- Excellent verbal and written communication a must
- US citizen or permanent resident
- 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry
- 10 - 15 years of overall experience
- Personal experience in the preparation and supervision of P&IDs
- Personal experience in the preparation and supervision of drafting for Piping drawings
- Personal experience in the preparation of equipment specification of any kind of mechanical equipment
- Personal experience in the preparation of pressure vessel calculations
- Personal experience in the preparation of pump sizing and pressure drop calculation
- Personal experience in the preparation of line sizing calculations
- Personal experience in control valve and relief valve sizing
- Skid design experience a plusEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
