Southwestern Energy Company is accepting applications for the position of Regulatory Analyst in its Spring, Texas office. The successful candidate will be charged with providing regulatory support to assist the West Virginia Team in complying with federal, state and local regulations for a developing and fast-paced well program. The candidate will work closely with management, operations and other professionals internal and external to SWN to clearly define regulatory issues and develop solutions.
Responsibilities:
Provide regulatory compliance support and guidance to the West Virginia Team.
Prepare and submit drilling permits, completion reports, waiver requests, and required work reports to regulatory agencies in assigned operating area. This shall include:
Gathering of information from various sources required for inclusion in the submission;
Preparation of the submission in a timely manner so as to avoid holding up Operations or missing regulatory submission deadlines;
Working with other disciplines or outside consultants to prepare various pieces of these submission; and
Any other tasks as required to prepare the required submittals.
Compile various other required regulatory submittals (e.g., filings related to bonding, water usage and disposal, annual submittals, notice of violations, Tier II reports, etc.). Specific tasks might include, but may not be limited to:
Gathering of information from other disciplines as required to prepare the relevant submittals; and
Preparation and submission of submittals in a timely manner in compliance with the required regulatory deadline.
Close, regular interaction, collaboration and communication with professionals in land, drilling, completions, production and other disciplines as may be necessary or appropriate to carry out job functions/tasks and achieve compliance goals.
Regular, productive communication with applicable regulatory agencies and other governmental bodies.
Monitor and conduct needed follow-up with regulatory agencies regarding the status of regulatory filings and other submittals.
Assist in the development of compliance systems/documents to ensure ongoing compliance and communication to other team members.
Understand current regulations and tracking proposed regulations; identify potential impacts.
Establish and maintain both internal and external working relationships.
Any and all other compliance-related tasks and functions as needed and/or requested by SWN management, including Regulatory Manager for the West Virginia Team.
Bachelor's degree.
Must be self-disciplined, detail-oriented and able to adapt to change easily.
Being inquisitive with a need to know the why not just the how of the role.
Must be able to effectively interact with agency representatives to secure permits and resolve compliance issues.
Experience with horizontal wells, shale plays, drilling, completions and producing assets in Pennsylvania and West Virginia a plus.
Work
Experience: 5 years preferred. Experience with sub-surface oil and gas regulatory compliance and a general knowledge of upstream oil and gas operations.
Good organizational and collaborative skills required.
Computer Proficiencies: Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
