This 1971 BSA Thunderbolt 650 is finished in Green & White over a black frame and powered by a numbers-matching 654cc parallel twin paired with a four-speed transmission.
During the year-long restoration, every effort was made to bring this beauty back to original factory condition.
Every component was touched, cleaned, and/or replaced with OEM equipment.
Engine - Air-cooled 654cc parallel twin was factory rated at 49 horsepower.
The engine Top-end was disassembled, inspected cleaned and resembled.
New Gaskets throughout.
Engine was thoroughly cleaned and polished where appropriate.
Carburetor - Single Amal Concentric carburetor - was disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled with new slide and spring, choke assembly, throttle cable, and carb re-build kit.
Fuel tank - Cleaned and Flushed, refinished in Factory colors, and installed with new Petcocks.
Side-covers - Cleaned, stripped, and refinished in Factory Colors.
New emblems installed on side covers, fuel tank & frame.
Frame and all frame components - Stripped, cleaned, and refinished in factory colors.
Replacement OIF (oil-in-frame) sump bolts & gaskets.
Electrical -new Lucas Cloth Main & Headlight wiring harnesses, Coils, Points, Ignition Switch, Blinkers, bulbs, flasher relays, condensers, & wiring, and other miscellaneous parts throughout the build.
